Advantages of Drilled and Slotted discs are to eliminate brake fade under continuous braking with or without loads. The drilled holes (or dimples) dissipate heat, gases and water improving the contact surface between brake pad and disc especially in wet conditions. The slots are designed to improve the brake pad biting contact improving braking efficiency. Combining the two together the results are greater wet braking efficiency with reduced brake fade especially under load.
Note. Drilled and slotted discs will not reduce braking distances. They must also be fitted in pairs.
